Tabuk City, Kalinga – More than 54,000 individuals in the Cordillera region voted their political bets during the first two hours of voting on Monday, May 12.

To pave the way for the special sector voters, the Commission on Elections allotted 5:00 – 7:00 a.m. for senior citizens and their assistors, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and pregnant women. This is to allow them to skip long queues and for them not to get exposed to the hot weather.

In the Cordillera region, Comelec-CAR Special Task Force for Early Voting Head, Atty. Elenita Julia Tabangin, as cited by PIA Cordillera, reported that a total of 54,259 individuals cast their votes in the early voting hours.

Of the figure, 48,428 are senior citizens, 4,147 are PWDs, 1,684 are pregnant women, and 12,137 are the people who assisted them.

There are 68.43 million Filipinos who are eligible to elect their next set of leaders. These registered voters are given until 7:00 p.m. tonight to cast their votes.
