“Salamat ti amin nga donations yu para ti Tanudan…iti tulong ken ayat yu kadakami” – Mayor Dagadag, expressing gratitude to Balbalan, other donors

Tanudan, Kalinga – The spirit of binnadang and compassion continues to greatly impact Tanudan, helping the community recover from the serious damages left by Super Typhoon Uwan, including the massive flooding that swept away school buildings in Lubo.

Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag earlier reported that the upper barangays of Tanudan, particularly Lubo, suffered severe flooding, forcing residents to take shelter in their arangs (small rice granaries) and washing away classrooms at Lubo Elementary School. The weather disturbance also triggered landslides and destroyed bridges, isolating five upper barangays for several days.

Dagadag personally sought assistance from the Provincial Government led by Governor James Edduba, which responded by helping clear and open the affected roads. On November 3, the isolated communities were finally reached through an airlift mission that delivered relief packs to affected households.

In addition to the support from provincial and national government agencies, help also poured in from private groups, various organizations in the province, and Overseas Filipino Workers who sent cash and in-kind donations. One of the latest donors is the Municipal Government of Balbalan, led by Mayor Almar Malannag, which contributed ₱100,000 from its Quick Response Fund for the rehabilitation of Lubo Elementary School.

With the outpouring of support, Mayor Dagadag expressed profound gratitude for the compassion, generosity, and solidarity shown to the people of Tanudan.

Agpasalamat kami unay iti tulong ken ayat yu kadakami nga taga-Tanudan. May your kindness and generosity return to you a hundredfold,” he said.
