Tanudan, Kalinga – Members of the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) in Kalinga are conducting a series of consultations in six communities in Tanudan for the implementation of priority projects in the identified areas.

The six identified communities include Lay-asan, Lower Mangali, Mangali Centro, Anggacan, Anggacan Sur, and Poblacion, Mangali.

Through a whole-of-nation approach, the PTF-ELCAC, chaired by Governor James Edduba, provides community beneficiaries with a holistic package of services and projects aimed at improving living conditions in remote, conflict-affected, vulnerable, and previously insurgency-influenced areas.

The PTF-ELCAC Community Consultation and Serbisyo Caravan in Tanudan kicked off in Lay-asan on May 5, 2026, where the task force, personally led by Governor Edduba together with Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag, solicited inputs from community members regarding priority projects that would address their needs.

The event also provided medical, dental, circumcision, and haircut services to residents.

In his message, Mayor Dagadag expressed his appreciation to the PTF-ELCAC for working to source funding for priority projects intended for the six identified barangays in the municipality. He also took the opportunity to encourage the iTanudans to help maintain the insurgency-free status of the municipality and to immediately report to the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, or the municipal government any recruitment activities by communist terrorist groups.

“Haan tayo kuma agpa-brainwash kadagiti agre-recruit, ken nu adda ag-recruit i-report tayo dagus iti AFP ken PNP tayo karkaru ta barangay usually iti unaen nga danunen dagita NPA.

Makita tayo met nga seryoso iti gobyerno tayo nga mangidanun iti serbisyo kadagiti umili, isu awan kuman iti agpapa-brainwash pay kadagitoy armado nga grupo,” he expressed.

The PTF-ELCAC’s next stop is in Mangali on May 8, while visits to the other beneficiary communities in the municipality are yet to be scheduled.
