Tabuk City, Kalinga – People may take different paths through life, but somehow, they all come to a crossroad.

This is the story of Cordilleran actor Arvin Tianga Balageo, who simultaneously pursued law school and successfully passed the 2025 Philippine Bar Examinations, along with 43 other fellow iKalingas.

According to the Supreme Court, a total of 11,420 examinees nationwide took the Bar examinations on September 7, 10, and 14, 2025. Based on the results released by the Court on January 7, 2026, 5,594 examinees, or 48.98 percent, passed the prestigious test.

Hailing from Tabuk City, Kalinga, Balageo is best known for his lead role in the film “The Wedding Dance,” an adaptation of the classic short story by National Artist for Literature Amador T. Daguio. The film earned a coveted spot in the Top 10 among 157 entries at the 2024 Cinemalaya Film Festival.

The film delves into tradition, love, and sacrifice within a Cordillera setting, featuring Balageo as Awiyao, whose longing for a son drives him to the painful decision to leave his wife, Lumnay (portrayed by Mai Fanglayan), and marry another woman due to her inability to bear a child.

Apart from The Wedding Dance, Balageo also appeared in the film “14 Days” by Isong Santos and was featured in a music video by Carlo Ocampo.

While fans admire him for his performances on screen, few know that he also dedicated himself to a rigorous academic path, culminating in his recent success as one of the new Philippine lawyers.

In a Facebook post, the iKalinga actor expressed gratitude to the Almighty, writing, “I think it’s raining hard. Basang-basa ang mukha ko. Thank you, Lord!”

Balageo’s journey proves that a passion for the arts and dedication to the law can intersect, inspiring many to pursue multiple dreams without compromise.
