Baguio City, Philippines – An iKalinga pride from Tanudan, Kalinga is among the graduates of the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) under the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Class of 2025, who completed their studies on December 11, 2025, in Canberra, Australia.

According to official information, 330 trainee officers graduated after completing their three-year military and academic programs. Among that cohort, 18 were international students from various countries, including the Philippines.

The Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra is a unique military institution where future Navy, Army, and Air Force leaders receive world-class university education through UNSW alongside intensive military and leadership training, while being paid as full-time members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Cayangao earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Aviation. He was also recognized as the Best Performing ADFA International Trainee Officer in Fitness and received a Commanding Officer’s Military Commendation for his outstanding performance.

Alongside Cayangao, two other Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadets—Cadet 1CL Nathanjan Barcelon Llasos from Albay and Cadet 1CL Kyle Rondobio Lanza from Sarangani—also successfully completed the demanding three-year program at ADFA.
