Tabuk City, Kalinga―Governor Ferdinand Tubban encourages every yKalinga to carry on conveying togetherness as way of combatting the ongoing pandemic to keep moving towards further progress and development in the province.

Through the virtual celebration of Kalinga’s 26th founding anniversary streamed online, Governor Ferdinand Tubban said people should still commemorate and honor the joyous occasion even only through the use of modern technology.

“Our safety and protection is paramount especially in this critical time. We may not celebrate together physically and enjoy the usual festivities and funfairs in this year’s commemoration but I know in our mind, heart and spirit we are one and united in celebrating our 26th founding anniversary,” he said.

He mentioned that over the years, the province has already gained great progress and achieved a lot.

“Through the help of our visionary leaders, we have indeed attained remarkable economic and social transformation. Of course, this would not be possible without the collective effort and contribution of everyone. This is the result of our unity and cooperation as one people,” he said.

Moreover, he said despite the fears, trials and challenges that tested the strength of the province, resilience in dealing with difficulties and the ability to rise in every setback have always prevailed.

“In this year’s celebration, I would like to congratulate and thank everyone for rising to the challenges brought about by the pandemic and other critical issues. Notwithstanding the fact that all is affected but you remained steadfast and continue to stand with us in this fight,” he said.

Tubban expressed his gratitude to his fellow local chief executives from the different municipalities and city for providing care and assistance to all their constituents especially in this trying times, frontliners and health workers who are risking their lives in the name of public service and to all whom in one way or the other have been partners in tasks.

He strongly hopes this pandemic will soon be over and come to an end with the help of the impending arrival of the vaccines which will ease fear and anxiety.

“But again, I must remind each one, we must not be relaxed and complacent and become reckless, we continue to be vigilant, abide with our health protocols and standards so that we will not be affected or prevent its further transmission,” he said.
