315 GIP beneficiaries hired in Kalinga

Tabuk City, Kalinga ─ Around 315 interns were recently hired through the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Government Internship Program (GIP) 2021, following the launching and orientation held on April 29 at the DepEd Tabuk compound.

Congressmam Allen Jesse Capuyan Mangaoang and DOLE Provincial Officer Dr. Avelina Manganip graced the event.

Through the initiative of Congressman Mangaoang, a budget amounting to P10 million was allotted for the salaries of said beneficiaries and implemented through DOLE-Kalinga and the Office of the Congressman.

DOLE-GIP provides opportunity for college graduates who want to earn work experience and pursue a career in public service in the local or national government.

It is a component of the KABATAAN 2000 under Executive Order (EO) no. 139 s. 1993, and DOLE Administrative Order No. 260-15, which aims to provide opportunities and engage young workers to serve general public in government agencies/entities projects and programs at the national and local level.

The internship period covers three to six months with a stipend equivalent to the existing minimum wage of the region where the beneficiary is employed. The intern shall also be entitled to insurance coverage.

Meantime, the 315 beneficiaries will be deployed in different government offices starting May 3.
