Tabuk City, Kalinga―To help sustain the blood supply amidst the pandemic, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) Kalinga-Apayao Chapter in partnership with Red Cross-Kalinga will be holding a bloodletting event at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Lower Kalinga compound on April 20.

Engr. Mandel Gup-ay of PICE Kalinga-Apayao Chapter underscored that donating blood is one of their organization’s activities as part of their civic duty and continued altruism as a response for those in need and the call of solidarity. This is also to ensure the availability of blood for their members, family and donors in case of emergency.

“This is for those families na nag-donate and of course para kadagiyay kailyan nga agkailangan ti blood para ti pasyente da so if we donate, we can give hope and save lives,” he said.

Hence, the collected blood shall be stored and preserved in the blood bank of the group for later use.

With the theme “PICE Kalinga-Apayao Chapter Saves Lives 2.0,” the group encourages and invites everyone to enlist and join the blood donation drive.
