Tabuk City, Kalinga – With a strong message of support for women’s empowerment, Governor James S. Edduba underscored the vital role of Kalinga women in leadership and community development during the Miss Kalinga Pre-Pageant held on February 6, 2026, at Davidsons Hotel in Bulanao—reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to initiatives that uplift and empower women.

With the theme “Bold, Brave, and Empowered,” the governor, as relayed by Attorney Priel Balnao, emphasized that the Search for Miss Kalinga is more than just a celebration of beauty and grace. He described it as a meaningful platform that highlights the potential of iKalinga women to lead with strength and courage.

Edduba also encouraged the candidates to embrace their purpose beyond competition, reminding them that leadership is reflected not only in confidence and eloquence but also in character, advocacy, and service to others.

“As we gather for the pre-pageant of the Search for Miss Kalinga 2026, we are reminded that this event is not merely a showcase of beauty and grace, but a powerful platform that honors the strength, courage, and leadership of Kalinga's young women—women who are ready to rise not only on this stage, but in their communities and in the lives they touch. To our candidates, today is not about competition alone. It is about purpose. Leadership is shown not just in eloquent words or confident walks, but in character, advocacy, and the willingness to make a difference,” he said.

He further noted that the crown the candidates aspire to symbolizes responsibility—a call to inspire, uplift, and lead with integrity and compassion. As the journey toward crowning Miss Kalinga 2026 continues, the pre-pageant served as a reminder that the pageant remains rooted in its mission to empower women.

“Mabuhay ang kababaihan ng Kalinga,” Edduba declared, expressing his full support for programs and initiatives that promote women’s empowerment, youth leadership, and community involvement across the province.

Meanwhile, the much-anticipated Coronation Night will be held on February 13 at the Kalinga Sports Center in Capitol Hills, Bulanao.
