Tinglayan has the BIGGEST RHU facility in Kalinga; iTinglayans now enjoy better and improved services

Tinglayan, Kalinga – A new building provides comfort to its workers, but more so better and improved services to the people.

Such is the case for Tinglayan with its new three-storey Rural Health building, considered the biggest RHU facility in Kalinga, now serving as a primary health care facility in town.

Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Aite Caren S. Liw-agan, said they have complied with the Department of Health standards for the licensing of RHU Tinglayan as a primary health care facility which now allowed them to offer first contact services.

Liw-agan added that RHU Tinglayan also provide primary point of entry for patients seeking healthcare. The services they provide include medical consultations, minor surgeries such as suturing of wounds, and basic laboratory and dental services.

Furthermore, they also implement DOH programs like immunization nutrition, environmental sanitation, noncommunicable diseases and infectious disease prevention and control services, family planning, and maternal and child care services.

Mayor Sacrament Gumilab, meantime, expressed that the three-storey building marked a milestone in the continuing journey toward better healthcare and sustainable development in Tinglayan.

“This facility represents our collective commitment to making quality healthcare more accessible to all—especially to those in our far-flung barangays. It is a concrete manifestation of our administration’s mission under Tongrayan Umunno-Unnoy—that no one should be left behind when it comes to health and well-being,” he expressed, thanking the health workers, municipal employees, partners in national agencies, and all stakeholders who worked hand in hand to make the infrastructure possible.

It was just a dream, but with Gumilab’s effort and initiatives, the mayor was able to make it happen for his people.
