Benguet, Philippines – Ten hopeful beauty queens are competing for a chance to represent Benguet in Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) next year.
Inaugural search for MUPH - Benguet
The search is the first edition of MUPH – Benguet, which is earlier described by the local independent organization as ‘a movement – one that seeks to empower local women, foster pride in our heritage, and inspire generations.’
“Our sole purpose is to represent the heart and soul of Benguet, uplift its people, and showcase the province’s beauty, culture, and potential on a national and international stage,” wrote the organization in an earlier statement.
“We recognize that Benguet is often misunderstood, and we are here to change that narrative. By embracing our roots and amplifying the voices of our people, we aim to show the world the true strength, resilience, and grace of Benguet,” it added.
The local organization owned and directed by Wynona L. Galvan aims to ‘boost tourism, promote industries, and strengthen the province’s identity.’
Applicants underwent screening in August.
Official candidates were formally presented during the sashing ceremony and media launch on September 19, wherein they strutted in all-white outfits. The event was graced by reigning titleholder Maiko Ibarde, who entered in Top 24 of MUPH 2025.
