Cagayan, Philippines – Search and rescue teams in Amulung deployed at the Cagayan River have another body to retrieve after a child accidentally fell into the river on Friday, November 15, 2024.

The teams were earlier tasked to look for two missing individuals who reportedly drowned on November 12 at the Cagayan River. These people included a 42-year-old man trying to rescue his livestock and an 18-year-old collecting driftwood.

Three days after the two separate drowning incidents, rescue teams have an additional body to look for in the waters following another drowning that transpired in Anguiray, Amulung this November 15.

According to the Cagayan Provincial Information Office, a 6-year-old kid went to the riverside with his cousin when he accidentally slipped and fell straight into the Cagayan River.

The kid was under the care of his grandmother as his parents are working in Manila.

The 6-year-old along with the two older men who drowned are yet to be found by the authorities as of this writing.
