Drug personality from Tabuk jumps off “Umbak” to escape police, arrested later

Pinukpuk, Kalinga – While he was able to initially evade police checkpoint by jumping off a three-wheeled vehicle or ‘umbak’, a drug personality was later arrested by authorities in Junction Pinukpuk, Kalinga.


The arrest was made Monday, June 3, 2024, by the personnel of the Pinukpuk Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit of Kalinga Police Provincial Office.



According to the police, the suspect, a 34-year-old man and a resident of Magnao, Tabuk City, evaded the police officers upon noticing a checkpoint.


He then jumped off his ‘umbak’, resulting in a chase. He was later outrun and apprehended.


A report by the Police Regional Office – Cordillera revealed that upon searching the suspect, authorities found two sachets of suspected shabu. The suspected drugs weighed more or less 9 grams with a market value of P61,200.


Aside from said items, authorities seized from him an Android phone and a coin purse.


The suspect, along with the pieces of evidence, was brought to the Kalinga Provincial Police Office for documentation and proper disposition.
