Five graduates of Cordillera universities top 2025 Special Board Exam for teachers

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Five graduates of Cordillera universities working overseas fulfilled their dream to become full-fledge educators after acing the June 2025 special board exam for teachers, securing positions in the top ranks.

These five topnotchers of the Special Professional Licensure Exam (SPLE) for teachers include Angelica Velonza Palongyas (elementary), top 3; Fledah Valera Martinez (elementary), top 6; Mariyam Balazon Mohmd Saleem (elementary), top 8; Elaine Mejias Gatillo (secondary), top 2; and Karen Faye Dunuan Oviedo (secondary), top 4.

 

Palongyas is an alumna of the University of the Cordilleras; Martinez is from the University of Abra; Saleem, University of the Cordilleras; Gatillo, University of Baguio; and Oviedo is an alumna of the Saint Louis University.

 

These five top performing examinees were among the 580 passers of the SPLE for teachers which was held June 8 at testing centers in Middle East, Singapore, and Taiwan. Moreover, there were 922 individuals who took the exam at said date.

 

The alma matters of the five topnotchers have each commended their respective graduates and extended their wishes on their next endeavor.
