San Agustin, Isabela - Another road accident due to drunk driving was recorded anew in Isabela over the weekend.

The incident claimed the life of a 33-year-old member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU).

Police identified the casualty as Edison Dionson, a resident of Barangay Calaocan, San Agustin, Isabela.

In his interview with the local media, Chief of San Agustin police, Fresiel Dela Cruz, relayed that Dionson, according to their investigation, left their house that day to go to another barangay onboard his motorcycle.

On his way, Dionson allegedly lost control of his vehicle, particularly in the curved part of the road in Barangay Santos, and crashed into the cemented barrier.

The police chief further said that Dionson was drunk when he drove his vehicle.

Due to the crash, the victim sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to a hospital by the responding authorities. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
