Three “Balay Pagdadarnan” worth P5M each inaugurated in Marag Valley, Apayao

Luna, Apayao - Designed to serve as venues for events while also functioning as evacuation centers during emergencies, three buildings in Apayao funded with P15 million were inaugurated recently.

The buildings, called as “Balay Pagdadarnan” or meeting place, were installed at three schools in Luna, Apayao.

These educational institutions include the Marag Elementary School, Cagandungan West Elementary School, and Calabigan Elementary School.

The buildings were funded P5 million each by the provincial local government unit of Apayao through the initiative of Governor Elias Bulut Jr., and the support of Apayao Lone District Representative Eleanor Bulut-Begtang.

Following their completions, the buildings were inaugurated and turned over to the recipient schools on May 16, 2024.

Led by the governor and the solon, the turn-over ceremonies were attended by Luna Mayor Josephine Bangsil, Vice Mayor Manolito Bullaoit, Schools Division of Apayao (SDO) representatives, barangay officials, and students of said schools.

As cited by the Apayao Provincial Information Office, the buildings serve as the third set of buildings inaugurated this year in the province, following those at Ayayao Elementary School in Calanasan and Aurora Elementary School in Pudtol.

Meantime, two more buildings are scheduled for turnover in the coming days in Barangay Anninipan and Barangay Malayugan in Flora.

Apayao seeks to put more Balay Pagdadarnan in all barangays of the province to make sure all communities have a safe place to go to when calamities strike.
