Gov. Tubban congratulates DepEd Civil Service Pag-asa and Presidential Lingkod Bayan Awardees

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor Ferdinand Tubban warmly congratulated the Department of Education-Division of Tabuk City for giving pride to the province in the recently concluded Civil Service Virtual Recognition Program "Parangal Para sa mga Lingkod Bayani ng Kordilyera."


Among the awardees that the division produced is Amando Danao, Principal 1 of Lanna Elementary School.


Danao was conferred the Pag-asa Award of Civil Service Commission (CSC). The award is given for his “outstanding contributions resulting from an idea or performance that directly benefits more than one department of the government.”


Contributions and Accomplishments of Amando Danao


The Pag-asa awardee established the Indigenous Peoples Education (IPEd) Center in Bullaguian Elementary School and Lanna Elementary School, that became a tourism center for indigenous education, culture and heritage.

Danao likewise strengthened engagement with IP communities for the contextualization of basic education curriculum for K to 12 Program, and intensively implemented Gulayan sa Paaralan Project that helped address the nutrition deficiency among students.


Moreover, he promoted a more conducive learning environment thru well improved building, ground and facilities, with zero dropout rate and 100% retention.


Danao held the Best DRRM Implementer for 2 consecutive years, Best Program Implementer, Best Performing School Head (Elementary Level), and other noteworthy awards.


SGOD Project REACH as Presidential Lingkod Bayan Awardee (Group Category)

Meanwhile, the School Governance Operations Division (SGOD) Project Reach won the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award (Group Category) for “garnering major awards and citations for significant contributions and commitment in reaching out beyond call of duty to make things happen and make a difference one step at a time.”


The group is composed of Senior Education Program Specialist Ana Marie Bucahan as the Team Leader, Program Specialist II Frances Gacuya, Project Development Officer II Menchie Gamongan, Educational Program Specialist II Joan Reyes, and Nurse II Jocelyn Dakiwag.


The project team conceptualized and launched Responsive Engagement to Accelerate Collaboration and Harmony (REACH) for the effective implementation of K to 12 Basic Education Program.


Also, the group enhanced the Electronic Technical Assistance for Better Understanding and Knowledge (E-TABUK), and DepEd Tabuk City Reaching Out that promotes shared responsibility among education stakeholders.

Other contributions of the group are: Kabataan para sa Kaalikasan, Kapwa, Bansa, Diyos at Edukasyon (KaBaDie) Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan, Resource generation-Dinner for a Cause, “Tanim ko, Bili mo para sa Module Ko, Project Gulayan sa Bahay ng mga Kabataan (GuBaKa), development Learning and Development Database, and support to COVID-19 Frontliners.


Recognition of Awardees


The awardees, both nominated by Schools Division Officer Irene Angway, will be given a certificate of recognition, CSC Medal of Honor, and will be listed in the commission’s Roster of Regional Honor Awards Program (HAP) Winners.
