Pasil, Kalinga – Striving to recover from the learning setback brought by the adoption of the blended learning scheme due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pasil Central School (PCS) resumed its face-to-face classes last February 28, 2022.

Principal Lilibeth Dongan, in an interview, revealed that using the modular system for learners to cope with the imposed restrictions greatly affected the performance of students.

Dongan said learners, in general, had low achievement levels.

The principal acknowledged that there are cases where modules were done by parents, while there are also cases where parents do not have the academic knowledge and skills to teach their children with their subjects.

Dongan noted there is a ‘huge’ learning gap between in-person classes and modular education setup.

Aiming to aid the learners, the workforce, with the support of stakeholders, pushed for face-to-face classes.

The school submitted its application for the conduct of F2F in the municipality to the Division and Regional offices.

With their thorough preparation, the school passed the criteria from the validation teams.

The elementary level of PCS was validated on February 9, 2022, and the in-person set-up started when the province was placed under Alert Level 2.
