PCEDO to provide technical services for Kalinga coops

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO) announced on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, that their office provides technical assistance to cooperatives wanting to be registered at the Cooperative Development Authority.


Provincial Cooperative Development Officer Arlene Oyando, in a radio program, said that their office shall be extending technical services to interested cooperatives that complied the requirements needed for registration.

Requirements include pre-registration seminar which is exclusively conducted, submission of mandatory reports, audited financial statements, performance audit report, social audit report, list of officers and trainings attended, and annual tax incentive report.


Aside from technical assistance, the cooperative, Oyando said shall also be providing bookkeeping services.


“Ittuy ti auditing, dagituy dadduma a coops, apan da ngay dituy opisina agpatulung iti bookkeeping da tapnu malakaan tun ni auditor a mang-scrutinize kadagiti documents da so tulungan mi isudan nga agaramid ti financial statements, ken supporting documents,” she said adding that these are part of the tutorial services being rendered.

For auditing services, Oyando mentioned that there are three accredited external auditors in the province whom they could avail their services. These are Arnold Tanding from the Kalinga State University, Noreen Bagano of Tabuk City Hall and Marites Bautista from Casigayan.

She said the list of qualified cooperatives that will be able to register will be submitted to the region.

Among the technical assistance services the office could provide, include provincial livelihood and enterprises projects, maintenance of records/ledgers of the provincial livelihood and enterprises, provision of livelihood assistance to cooperatives and MSMEs, networking and linkaging with government agencies, non-government organizations and peoples’ organizations.


To date, Oyando said that 167 cooperatives are already registered in the province or which majority are active.
