PNP Kalinga reveals Marijuana peddlers usually pose as tourists

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Some illegal drug dealers pose as tourists in Kalinga to buy and transport marijuana from Tinglayan, says Kalinga Police Provincial Office.


In an interview with Police Colonel Peter Tagtag Jr., Acting Kalinga Police Provincial Director, he disclosed that one modus operandi of marijuana transporters is coming to Kalinga as tourists to get contrabands in the said municipality.


“Kasla iti modus da tattan, agbalin da nga tourist kunwari sabay gumatang da met lang iti marijuana idiay area,” he said.


He added that some even use public utility vehicles to transport the illegal weed.

“Based idiay investigation mi met laeng, kasla dagitoy daduma gamin nga tourist nga mapmapan ditoy ket agbalin da nga carrier metten iti drugs. Adda dagiay babassit nga ilusot da, makisabsabay da pay ken dagitoy public utility vehicles tayon ken motor,” he explained.


Tagtag revealed that Sampaloc Police Station recently arrested two drug pushers who were said to have bought suspected marijuana in Kalinga.

To thwart the transport of Marijuana, checkpoints in the province have been intensified with the deployment of drug-sniffing dogs.

It could be recalled that this February 25, four individuals were arrested in two separate operations in Lubuagan and Tabuk City. The four were found transporting suspected marijuana.
