VM Guiang elected President of Vice Mayor’s League of the Philippines- Apayao Chapter

Santa Marcela, Apayao - Third and last termer Vice Mayor Rolly U. Guiang in Santa Marcela was recently elected President of Vice Mayor’s League of the Philippines- Apayao Chapter, following an election presided over by DILG-Apayao Provincial Director Engr. Mayer Max G. Adong on July 14, at the EKB Clubhouse in Santa Marcela.


Mayor Evelyn B. Martinez, expressing full support, has sworn Guiang into office together with the new set of officers who shall serve for three years. In a statement, Martinez underscored the vital role of the Vice Mayor-President in fostering good governance and reinforcing quality public service province-wide.

Guiang,  in an interview with Guru Press Cordillera, said his leadership will focus on attaining more development in Apayao by setting clear objectives, hoping for an active and unified organization. He also thanked his fellows for their trust in his capacity to lead, saying he sincerely appreciated the confidence conferred upon him.


Other Vice mayors entrusted with their respective positions include Conner VM Alexander M. Aswigue as Vice President, Pudtol VM Teresita A. Bulsao as Secretary General, Kabugao VM Frederick C. Amid as Treasurer, Luna VM Zaira Erika L. Caluya as Auditor, Calanasan VM Martin Lucero B. Lawat as Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Flora VM Rodolfo B. Juan as Board of Director.


According to DILG Apayao, before the election proceedings, a Provincial chapter COMELEC was organized, followed by the filing of certificates of candidacy among aspirants. All eligible candidates have been given the chance to articulate their plans relative to the organization’s functionality and the significant impact of the league on governance, public service, and progress, then the casting of votes followed.


The newly elected officers of the VMLP–Apayao Chapter are expected to demonstrate unity, collaboration, commitment, accountability, and a shared vision for progress
