Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor Ferdinand Tubban stressed that quality education should not be compromised even amidst the war against Covid-19 and its variants, as education is an indispensable aspect of an individual’s life.

Tubban made this point during the inspection and validation of facilities for limited face-to-face classes for Kalinga State University this July 22 which was attended by CHED officials, DOH officials, and other members of the team that shall determine whether KSU is ready to have limited face-to-face class interactions.

Through his representative, Provincial Administrator William Puday Jr., Tubban lauded the ‘resiliency, creativity, sacrifice, and hard work’ of the educational sectors in Kalinga for continuing to educate the learners even with the challenges and stressful circumstances the Covid-19 had brought.

“Governor Tubban is glad to see Kalinga Province and Kalinga State University rise back up and push for means to ensure the future workforce have the knowledge, competencies, and skills they need,” he said, adding that the request to have limited face-to-face classes is evidence that a university is working, innovative, and caring.

Moreover, the governor, in his message, underscored those problems always come, and it is the duty of everyone to solve them, for each has a given job to do which contributes to a solution of a problem.

“It is then imperative that as problem solvers, we accept the responsibilities and make sure that in the performance of our jobs we do well. Small efforts gathered together can make a great difference,” he added.

Further, Tubban also expressed that while Covid-19 variants can come anytime and can strike anyone, the public should not live in fear nor be controlled by fear.

“For if we continue to be controlled by fear, instead of fighting back (and) become better, we will be running (and) become worse,” he said.

Tubban ended his message by encouraging the workers in the academe and national line agencies as well as the LGUs to unite and work hard to avoid compromising the quality of education and the future of the students noting, “Their future is our future.”
