Tabuk City, Kalinga – Three months after the opening of classes in the Department of Education, DepEd Tabuk observes that more learners are now doing their modules on their own unlike earlier months where issues on parents doing it for them were raised.

Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Irene Angway in an interview said that their appeal on some parents not to answer their children’s module and let learners do it slowly has materialized since their advice from the onset of schooling.

“Dumadami na ang mga bata na yung mga talagang sumasagot,” she said.

Angway points that while parents love their children that they don’t want to see them stressed, they should still let them work on their modules. If they keep doing it for them, the learners’ values and mindset will be greatly affected. Learners will be conditioned to rely on them and think that whatever they do, their mother or father is there to save them.

Moreover, Angway added that the teachers know if their students were the ones who answered the modules. They can discern it through the penmanship of the child and on how he or she answers the questions.

Meanwhile, the schools division superintendent said that learners were able to adjust with the new mode of learning; however, they are still looking for the traditional face to face where students can ask questions directly and where they can play with friends.

“Biruken da latta iti face to face ta isu iti nakarwaman da ngem at least they are already able to cope,” she said.
