Balbalan, Kalinga – Improvised landmines were recovered by the Kalinga police in Sitio Alwiyao in Barangay Pantikian on July 5, 2022.

Kalinga police disclosed the items appeared to be war materials of the Komiteng Larangang Guerilla (KLG)-Baggas.

The operatives together with the canine unit were deployed in the forested area in Sitio Alwiyao after they were informed about the presence of explosive devices hidden at the site.

After clearing the area, the authorities discovered 2 improvised anti-tank mines, a piece of an improvised claymore mine, and materials used for creating IEDs such as 3 #18 firing wires and 1.5 volts batteries.

The items were brought to KPPO for documentation and proper disposition.

Seventeen of the 22 activities are purely movements while the others are food transport, harboring, food acquisition, mass work, and movement taking ambush position.
